Hello, and welcome to Wrenchhead racing.

We are a father and son nostalgia drag race team that campaigns two cars
through out the racing season in upstate New York. A 1948 Fiat Topolino
altered and a 1963 Plymouth Belevedere. We try to race in two major
national events each year during the racing season and are weekend
warriors the remainder of that time. It's funny to think that the idea of drag
racing came to us almost ten years ago and has progressed ever since.

While at a local cruise night with our cars, some guy pulled in with a really
nice 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. My fathers eyes lit up like the top two
staging bulbs. After hovering around it for 20 or so minutes he asked him if
it was for sale. By the end of the night he was making arrangements to pick
it up on the weekend! It had a 440 in it with triple carbs, automatic and
stock interior. He drove it for the rest of the summer as is. That winter we
turned it into a dragster. Mini Tubs, a 505 crate motor with an Indy top
end, roll bars and new interior were installed. With the project completed
we ran it locally and nationally for a few years and then the fever started
again.

We were hanging around the shop one night and out of the blue my father
asks...If you were to build another race car what would it be? An alterted I
answered. Two weeks later he found a 32 T Bucket 125" inch altered for
sale. Two weeks after that it was in our garage!

We drove it  just as we purchased it for a season and tinkered with it
nightly. It has a 422 Dart Motor, a 2 stage glide, Strange rear end and 4
wheel discs. It puts out about 635 HP and runs in the high 8's. We
purchased a 1948 Fiat Topolino body from Rod and Race and got rid of the
T Bucket. Other body and frame mods were done to accomodate the new
dash and body cavity. The frame was powder coated and every nut and
bolt was littertally replaced and pinned. Frame and roll bar mods were made
for saftey and manuverability.

This car is a really fun to drive. It hooks really well and go's straight. It is
currently running 8.90's to 9:00 at 150 mph. Would I like it to go faster?
Absolutely!! Knock on wood, we've been very lucky. The motor is well built
as well as the car. We go fast enough to have fun and not fast enough to
break. The car is extremely consistant and will run a hundredth or two off
its dial.

I am happy and fortunate enough to have my father, son and great friends
that enjoy the sport of drag racing. They help us crew throughout the year
and during the national racing events. We have more fun than I can
describe and we joke and laugh until it hurts.

We are Wrenchhead racing...
